The Junior Nationals has always been a great show to find new national level talent, but the 1989 version was particularly noteworthy as it introduced Lenda Murray to the national scene. She demolished the field here, but other noteworthy women included Lori Sarkisian, Pam Wascher, Tracy Gillespie, Illona Pagan, Gisele Sass-Haddad, Linda Bevelander, Paula Piwarunas, Jannell Ennis, Danielle LeRoy, Christina Petrarca, Anita Briggs, Kim Robinson and many others.
